    Great Mexican Food

La Rosa Blanca has been a favorite of my family’s for over 20 years. It started in a small space on Auburn Blvd, but the restaurant was recently moved to Fulton Ave near Marconi. It’s family owned…so, once you’ve been there a couple of times, Alex will greet you by name and give you the best service ever. The decor is very bright and colorful, it’s very clean…and they have a mariachi band certain nights. I have to admit that I miss the small, cozy feel of the old restaurant, but it is easier to get seated in the new larger space.

But…the best thing by far is the food…well, and value! I have to have a combination every time I go with one chilli relleno plus one other item…it doesn’t matter what other item, but always a chilli relleno. They are the best…so fresh with just the right amount of chille, egg and a slightly fried flavor. Once in a while I waver and go with the Mama’s chicken…but, then I crave the chilli relleno and have to go back for one soon after. You can eat for under $10…for a full meal with the best beans and rice to complete the plate! You gotta try this place…

Tell us about the best mexican retaurant you’ve found…for less money!!!

Ernie’s Coffee Shop – South Lake Tahoe – open for Breakfast and Lunch , only.
1207 Highway 50 South Lake Tahoe, CA

Ernie’s is a classic Tahoe style Diner with the cedar accents and totums. It is a locals favorite. A menu to satisfy any pallet, any time. Omeletts, waffles, sandwiches/hot & cold. Each entre will excite your senses. The service is truly a team concept. Every employee seems to cater to every patron, very unique. This restaurant is truly a nugget to be treasured. My wife and I , and others we know, make a trip to South Lake Tahoe just to go to Ernie’s. Something magical always develops as you find yourself meandering up the scenic Highway 50 and enjoying all of the bounty this region has to offer….. with your destination — Ernie’s Coffee Shop. You will be spoiled by the service and take a to go box because the food is so ample and delicious…. Then off to some other adventure in town, such as the Zip Line, or shopping, gambling for some, or just walking the beach. What a great way to invest in the adventure of a day. !!
